Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Abstract Art seeks to break away from traditional representation. It explores the relationships of forms and colors, whereas more traditional art represents the world in recognizable images.
As a viewer: Allow something to emerge from what you see in front of you. Look at the elements, colors, and textures of the painting and how they interact with each other. Allow yourself enough time to make a connection with the painting.
I, as an artist, do want the viewer to extract their own meaning from the painting and therefor quite often I only use the title “Abstract”. I do not want to guide the viewer’s interpretation with my titles.
